What is DEXIS CariVu?
DEXIS CariVu is a cavity-detection device that emits no radiation. Because some patients are averse to X-rays and radiology instruments, we use CariVu to make sure we can diagnose all our patients in a way that keeps them comfortable.
How Does It Work?
The technology behind DEXIS CariVu is called near-infrared light, and it allows Dr. Eliot Tokowitz to transilluminate your teeth. Because cavities and cracks absorb this light, they will show up as dark spots on the image, making them easy to notice.
